About Us
The Coahoma County Higher Education Center is located north of downtown Clarksdale, MS on the site known as Cutrer Hill. In 1999, DSU entered into a higher education partnership with Coahoma Community College, a historically black college, to create the Coahoma County Higher Education Center which provides education, leadership, service, and cultural resources to the region. Through this collaboration, the CCHEC offers educational opportunities that are not easily accessible in this rural, economically depressed area.
The CCHEC provides space and resources to existing tourism events: Juke Joint Festival, Tennessee Williams Festival, The Delta Blues Museum and the Sunflower River Blues Festival. In addition, the CCHEC now offers two-year, four-year, and master’s level degrees in education, nursing, and hospitality management.
Member of the Clarksdale/Coahoma County Chamber of Commerce. Go to www.clarksdaletourism.com for more information about the happenings in the heart of the Delta.
